**IMPORTANT: Please read the following information in full in preparation for your upcoming tattoo appointment.


PRE-CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Preparing your skin and body ahead of your appointment helps ensure the smoothest tattoo experience and the best possible healed result. The following guidelines outline how to get ready in the days leading up to your session!

Skin Preparation:

  • For optimal results and healing, gently exfoliate and moisturize the area the night before and the day of your appointment, or exfoliate and moisturize daily for a week leading up to your session.

  • Avoid sun exposure on the area being tattooed, as a sunburn or irritated skin cannot be tattooed. Ideally, keep the tattoo area completely out of the sun whenever possible, or be sure to use sunscreen in the weeks prior to if the area will be exposed.

  • Avoid shaving the area on the day of your appointment. Shaving right before your tattoo can irritate the skin, and Paige will shave the area during the stencil process if needed.

Appointment Preparation:

  • Arrive well‑hydrated and well‑rested. This helps with pain tolerance and overall comfort.

  • Eat a full meal or substantial snack before your appointment to minimize dizziness, nausea, or discomfort, and feel free to bring snacks or drinks with you to the appointment! There are also several shops and cafés near the studio if you'd like to purchase food or drinks nearby. 

  • Limit blood‑thinning substances (such as caffeine and ibuprofen) before your session to help reduce bleeding.

Sensory, Emotional, and Accessibility Preparation:

  • It is important to us that you are comfortable during your session. If you have sensory sensitivities, anxiety around tattoos, or require any accommodations, please let us know in advance. Paige is happy to adjust the environment, pacing, or setup to make the experience as supportive and comfortable as possible!

STUDIO INFORMATION

  • Famiglia Tattoo is located at 1505 Fell Street in Oak Bay (Victoria) BC.

  • When you arrive, you will be asked to complete a consent form. You must be 18 years of age or older to be tattooed by Paige.

  • You will also be required to wear a mask during your appointment. Please bring your own.

  • Please note that there is a half staircase leading up to the deck at the entryway; if this is a barrier for you, please let us know ASAP so an alternative space can be arranged to tattoo you in.

  • If you are driving, you may park in the “residents only” spaces on Fell Street, as you are accessing a business on said street.

  • Paige works in a private room with comfortable lighting and low music. They strive to create a low-stim environment to tattoo and be tattooed in. 

  • The room also includes an accessible hydraulic table designed to support a wide range of mobility needs. The table raises and lowers to assist with safe and comfortable transitions, and it is rated to hold up to 450 lbs.  

  • Please arrive alone for your appointment! If you have accessibility issues and/or require someone to assist you with movement and access, please let us know in advance, and Paige is happy to accommodate you.

PAYMENTS & DEPOSITS

  • Paige accepts payment by e-transfer or cash. There is no card reader at the studio, so she cannot take payments by card. Please note that clients travelling from outside Canada will need to make their payment in cash or via PayPal

  • Deposits are non-refundable, but if you need to reschedule, that’s totally okay! Please let us know as far in advance as possible. Your deposit may be forfeited if your cancellation is last-minute, as this is a missed day of income (and you will need to pay a new deposit to rebook), unless this is due to sickness or an unavoidable emergency. Please respect our time! In addition, if you need to reschedule more than 1-2 times, we may request a new deposit regardless of the notice you provide us. 

  • If you are booked in for a custom piece and would like to provide additional information, please forward your images to Paige’s email. The best references are screenshots of Paige’s work (as found on her website, BlueSky, or Instagram) and photographs of relevant subject matter. Please refrain from sending AI-generated images.

  • Please note that custom designs are not provided in advance of the appointment, unless requested by you and discussed with and approved by Paige. Otherwise, you will see the design on the day of your appointment, and Paige will be happy to collaborate with you and make changes at that time. 

  • Paige is also happy to offer complimentary virtual consultations (by Zoom or FaceTime) upon request.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Please note that Paige often prefers a quiet appointment for the sake of focus and committing to creating the highest quality work. She encourages you to bring headphones, a book, etc. The space is private, and you and Paige will be the only ones present in the room for the appointment.

  • If you are unsure what to wear for your appointment, please reach out, and Paige is happy to give you pointers on the best attire to wear based on your tattoo’s placement. Comfortable, loose, and warm clothing is best. Bring layers, as body temperature tends to go down while being tattooed.

  • If you have any physical or mental health issues you would like Paige to know about before getting tattooed, please let us know at your discretion. We are committed to confidentiality and respect if you choose to disclose any health information that may be relevant to getting tattooed. Please note that Paige cannot tattoo you if you are currently pregnant.

  • If you’d like to buy anything from Paige’s online shop, you can save on shipping by picking up and paying for the items at your appointment! If you’d like anything, please let us know in advance so Paige can bring the items to the shop for your appointment.
